About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for a contractor Audio Transcription Expert role focused on producing accurate, high-quality transcripts of complex audio content across multiple languages. This is a remote, project-based engagement well suited to multilingual transcriptionists with experience handling technically demanding or domain-specific audio, including multi-speaker recordings.

What you will do
- Listen to complex audio files and produce precise written transcripts according to project guidelines and quality standards
- Handle transcription tasks spanning multiple languages, dialects, and subject areas
- Review and proofread transcripts for accuracy, grammar, and context, making necessary corrections
- Collaborate with project managers and fellow transcriptionists to maintain consistency and accuracy
- Provide timely feedback on audio quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Utilize and adapt to AI transcription tools, software, and evolving technologies as required

Required skills
- Proven expertise in audio transcription, particularly with multi-speaker and technically complex material
- Fluency in at least one language in addition to English; multilingual candidates strongly preferred
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential audio data
- Familiarity with AI transcription tools or prior experience supporting AI model training

Helpful background
- Prior experience transcribing content with complex or domain-specific vocabulary
- Background in linguistics, localization, or speech data processing
- Experience working on teams supporting AI or machine learning development

Schedule and location
This is a fully remote contractor role. Hours per week are flexible and determined by project availability.
