About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. The platform helps freelancers discover projects, build a unified AI training portfolio, and manage opportunities that train modern machine learning systems.

OpenTrain focuses on the human side of AI: contributors annotate, review, and provide feedback that directly shapes how models behave. Whether you are starting or scaling a freelance practice, OpenTrain supports long-term, flexible work in a fast-growing industry.

About AI training work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is how real people teach models to understand and act on digital content. Tasks range from image and UI annotation to evaluating model responses, and they power everything from search and chatbots to product analytics.

This work is often fully remote, flexible, and accessible — many projects require attention to detail and domain familiarity rather than prior AI experience. Contributors directly influence model behavior and quality.

The role

OpenTrain is recruiting remote contractors to review and annotate software UI screenshots for OpenTrain. You will evaluate AI model responses against on-screen evidence and complete structured annotation tasks across dashboards, admin panels, CRM tools, and web apps.

This is a part-time, contractor position requiring 20+ hours per week. Work is worldwide (English required). Pay ranges from $25 to $40 per hour (projects and rates may vary within that range).

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
  • Languages: English required; open to applicants worldwide
  • Data type: Image screenshots; label types: Evaluation/Rating and Classification

What you'll do

  • Review and analyze screenshots of diverse software interfaces, identifying UI elements and interpreting user workflows.
  • Evaluate AI model responses and rate or classify them based strictly on what is visible onscreen.
  • Distinguish between observable evidence and assumptions, and document clear, evidence-based explanations for each assessment.
  • Complete structured annotation tasks across dashboards, forms, admin panels, CRM tools, and web applications.
  • Provide clear, actionable written feedback to help improve AI model performance and support team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to analyze screenshots and interpret software UIs across multiple environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong commitment to accuracy and consistency in review work.
  • Outstanding written communication skills; able to articulate complex observations concisely and clearly.
  • High computer literacy and comfort navigating a variety of digital tools, platforms, and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to separate evidence-based findings from assumptions in written assessments.
  • Experience completing structured annotation or review processes in technical, product, QA, or operations contexts.

Helpful background

  • Experience in QA testing, technical support, product operations, UX research, data annotation, or technical writing.
  • Familiarity with complex interfaces such as admin panels, CRM platforms, dashboards, and modern web apps.
  • Prior remote work with globally distributed teams and familiarity with asynchronous collaboration.
