During my time as a Social Media Evaluator at Appen, I was on the front lines of content moderation during a pretty intense period. My main job was to dive into a high volume of social media videos and call out what was actually factual versus what was misleading. I was working 40 hours a week right when the pandemic and the 2020 U.S. Election hit, so the workflow was massive and the information was changing by the hour. It took a lot of focus to stay objective and catch the subtle ways misinformation spreads while the world was in a bit of a whirlwind.Even with that heavy workload and the pressure of such high-stakes topics, I made sure my ratings stayed sharp and consistent. I took pride in the fact that my evaluations were officially recognized for their quality, which was crucial since that data was used to train the AI models we all rely on today. I’m used to the grind of high-volume data work and know how to keep my accuracy high without slowing down, even when the subject matter gets complicated.
