I did a project Nigerian Meal Recognition AI project, I engineered and fine-tuned a custom convolutional neural network (CNN) that achieved an 89% classification accuracy. A cornerstone of this project’s success was my ability to curate a high-quality dataset, explicitly addressing and overcoming a critical global data gap in African food-tech AI datasets. This demonstrates not just an understanding of data ingestion, but the strategic insight needed to source, clean, and structure data where no pre-existing commercial pipelines exist.

The Nigerian Meal Recognition AI project was a technical initiative focused on addressing a major data scarcity issue in global food technology models. I engineered and fine-tuned a custom Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to identify Nigerian meals, effectively bridging a critical data gap for African culinary representation in AI. The Dataset is on Kaggle Currently. The custom model achieved an 89% classification accuracy for meal identification.
