A Chartered Engineer (CEng) and MBA with 20+ years of engineering leadership across embedded systems, IoT-connected products, safety-critical electronics, and defence. I have built multidisciplinary teams from scratch, delivered award-winning NPIs from concept through to certified production, and owned product strategy and R&D budgets at brand level within global organisations. My career spans UK SMEs inside US multinationals — Danaher, Emerson, Sydor Technologies, and Honeywell — where I learned to move fast, stay technically grounded, and lead teams through genuine adversity and ambiguity. What sets me apart is breadth backed by depth. I've led teams spanning embedded software, firmware, hardware, mechanical, and systems engineering — and I've never lost my own technical grounding in circuit design, firmware, certification, and systems architecture. That combination lets me challenge assumptions, unblock the hard problems, and keep delivery on track when complexity threatens to derail it. Most recently I led the Gent Self-Test programme at Honeywell — the first EN54-compliant, cloud-connected, device-integrated self-test fire detection system in Europe. Launched October 2023, Edison Gold Award, $29m revenue, a full year ahead of two competing Honeywell brands. As Technical Product Owner for the Gent brand (~$40m annual revenue) I owned the product roadmap, R&D budget (~$3m/year), and engineering strategy across sensor, panel and software disciplines.
