During my time at the Department of Radiology at Münster University Hospital, I gained two years of experience in medical imaging research and structured image segmentation. I contributed to the RACOON COVID-19 imaging project, a related MRI-based endometriosis subproject, and a CT-based muscle segmentation project focusing on quantitative pectoralis muscle assessment in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. This work provided me with practical experience in radiological data annotation, segmentation workflows, and quantitative imaging biomarkers at the interface of clinical radiology and data-driven image analysis. The muscle segmentation project contributed to the publication “CT-Defined Pectoralis Muscle Density Predicts 30-Day Mortality in Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19: A Nationwide Multicenter Study,” published in Academic Radiology in 2024.
