Data Analysis
My Experience with Data Labelling & Annotation Projects While my professional background is in environmental and social risk analysis, much of my work has involved tasks that are directly transferable to data annotation. Here are a few examples: 1. Document Classification & Categorisation In my role reviewing infrastructure project documents, I regularly classified hundreds of pages of reports (ESIA studies, engineering designs, stakeholder meeting minutes) into predefined categories such as "environmental risk," "social grievance," "compliance gap," or "mitigation measure." This required consistent, rule-based judgment, exactly the skill needed for text classification and tagging projects. 2. Image & Spatial Annotation for Site Assessments I have reviewed satellite imagery and site photographs to identify and label features relevant to environmental impact assessments. This included annotating vegetation cover, water bodies, settlement boundaries, and sensitive infrastructure. I am comfortable with bounding boxes, polygon drawing, and classification tasks. 3. Comparative Ranking & Quality Evaluation As part of my consulting work, I have compared multiple project proposals or technical reports against a set of criteria (e.g., regulatory compliance, completeness, clarity, risk level) and ranked them accordingly. I am also experienced in evaluating written content for accuracy, coherence, and adherence to guidelines. 4. Sentiment & Intent Analysis from Stakeholder Feedback I have analysed thousands of community feedback forms and grievance logs, categorising comments by sentiment (positive, neutral, negative) and by theme (safety, water access, compensation, etc.). This is direct experience with text annotation for sentiment analysis. 5. Structured Data Extraction From lengthy technical documents, I have extracted specific data points (e.g., project budgets, timelines, geographic coordinates, mitigation actions) and populated structured templates or spreadsheets. This is similar to entity linking and attribute extraction tasks. My Mindset I am new to dedicated data annotation platforms, but I am a fast, careful learner who follows instructions precisely. I understand that quality, consistency, and attention to detail are everything in this work. I am ready to start with simpler tasks and prove my reliability before moving to more complex projects.
