The large multi-national client sought competitive understanding within their international market, based on technical ingredients used in Haircare. The objective was to answer specific questions for the client to enable competitive insights into the specific market. Raw data of 20+ technical ingredients across 10,000 product records were used. Data entry of the ingredients were not standardised and contained a large volume of typos and errors. The project involved - - Analysing, correcting and standardising all ingredients to a standarised list - Creation of a Classification system of the ingredients, aligned with the Company's objectives - Tagging of all ingredients to the Classification system - Creation of a customised database for ongoing analysis of based data - Creation of in-depth report and key Competitive Insights findings to the Regional board

Data classification project for a Government website assistance portal

The Government Department's proprietary objective was to support the needs of Women. A new website portal was to be created, giving users quick access to a wide range of public services & assistance, based on life events and situations. A large database of services and assistance existed, yet 70% of the data was incorrectly classified. This project involved - - assessment of a large data set of records - developing a fresh classification system aligned to the needs of the users and the Government Dept objectives - analysis and re-classifying all records, and checking for accuracy - testing of audited data set and new classification system for effectiveness - mapping of data to return effective results in fluid web portal searches - co-development of the portal interface for user effectiveness based on real life needs and situations

The multi-national company was a global industry leader in their field and had acquired 2 smaller companies in the last year. The company had a innovation division that supported their core production division (revenue centre). They lacked understanding of the profitability of the customer base and whether innovation division was cost effective, based on the customers it was serving. A global customer segmentation model was created. The project was to gather all customer data across 8 markets and build the Customer Segmentation data for this region, to complete the regional and global picture. The project involved - - Initial assessment of the data sources, availility and gaps, and current data forms - Mapping alignment of current data to the format required for the global CS model - Gathering of data across multiple country teams and creation of a data base - Alignment to the CS model and customer classification - Analysis of results and reporting on innovation spend per customer
