Some employers only accept proposals from AI trainers in certain locations. The employer sets which locations are eligible for each job. On those jobs, OpenTrain checks your location before you can submit a proposal or start the job's AI interview. If the check does not pass, a message appears in the proposal window and you can't submit yet.

## What the location check looks at

- **The country on your profile.** The job's requirements list shows **Location Match** when the job has a location requirement. Your profile country must be one of the job's eligible locations. Set it to the country where you live.
- **Your current location.** Location-restricted jobs also ask your browser for your current location when you apply. Your browser may show a prompt that asks to share your location with `app.opentrain.ai`.

The check runs again each time you try. A pass on one job or on one earlier attempt does not lift the check for later attempts.

## What each message means

| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| **Add your country** | Your profile has no country set. | Select **Go to profile**, set the country where you live, then return to the job. |
| **Enable location for this job** | The job needs your current location, and your browser has not shared it yet. | Select **Enable location for this job** and choose **Allow** if your browser asks. If it doesn't ask, turn on location services for your device and browser (see below), then try again. |
| **Your browser isn't sharing location with this site** | Your browser is set not to share location with OpenTrain. | In your browser's site settings, set **Location** to **Allow** for `app.opentrain.ai`, then reload the page (see below). |
| **Turn on location services on this device** | Your browser allows location for OpenTrain, but your device did not share a location. | Turn on location services for your device and your browser, then select **Check location again**. |
| **Your location check timed out** | Your browser allows location, but it did not return a position in time. | Make sure location services are on and you have a signal or Wi-Fi, then select **Check location again**. |
| **We couldn't read your location** | Your browser returned a location that could not be used. | Try again. If it keeps happening, try another browser or device. |
| **Your current location isn't eligible for this job** | Your current location is outside the job's eligible locations. | You can continue when you are in an eligible location. If you are in the country on your profile, connect to Wi-Fi and turn on location services so your device can find a precise position, then check again. |
| **We couldn't confirm your location** or **We couldn't confirm your location for this job** | Your location check did not pass. | You can check again later. If you are in the country on your profile and it still does not pass, contact support. |

## Allow location in your browser

- **Chrome / Edge:** click the lock icon left of the address bar, then **Site settings** → **Location** → **Allow**. Reload the page.
- **Safari:** open the **Safari** menu → **Settings** → **Websites** → **Location**, select `app.opentrain.ai`, choose **Allow**, and reload.
- **Firefox:** click the shield or lock icon → **Permissions**, set **Location** to **Allow**, and reload.

## Turn on location services on your device

- **Windows:** **Settings** → **Privacy & security** → **Location**. Turn on **Location services** and **Let desktop apps access your location**.
- **macOS:** **System Settings** → **Privacy & Security** → **Location Services**. Turn it on and allow your browser.
- **Android:** **Settings** → **Location**. Turn on **Use location**, then allow location for your browser app.
- **iPhone / iPad:** **Settings** → **Privacy & Security** → **Location Services**. Turn it on and allow your browser **While Using the App**.

If your settings are already on and the check still fails, try another browser or device.

## Contact support

If the check still does not pass and you are in the country on your profile, select **Need help? Contact support** in the proposal window, or email <support@opentrain.ai>. Include the job title and the message you see.
